Somnus Docs
Build your Roblox game with AI
Connect Somnus to Roblox Studio and build your game by describing what you want.
What you can do
Directly inside Studio, you can ask Somnus to:
- Write and fix Luau scripts
- Build parts and maps
- Insert assets
- Read your game tree
- Start and stop playtests
Set up in 3 steps
- Install or update Roblox Studio.
- In Studio, open the Assistant panel, click …, choose Manage MCP Servers, and turn on Enable Studio as MCP server. This is the one step only you can do.
- In Somnus, open Capabilities → Connectors → Roblox Studio → Connect. Somnus finds Studio automatically and shows a green Connected light with your open place.
Or connect in one click:
Open in SomnusStatus lights
- Green, Connected: ready to go.
- Yellow, Studio isn't open: open Studio and your place.
- Yellow, Studio MCP server is off: do step 2 above. Somnus retries by itself.
- Red, error: click Copy diagnostics and contact support.
Safety
- The first time Somnus edits a place, it asks for your permission.
- Every change also shows in the Changes tab.
Ctrl+Zin Studio undoes anything.
Example prompts
- "Add a leaderboard with coins"
- "Make a lobby with a 30-second countdown"
- "Find bugs in my scripts"
Manual setup
If you prefer, add this to config.yaml:
mcp_servers:
roblox_studio:
command: "cmd.exe"
args: ["/c", "%LOCALAPPDATA%\\Roblox\\mcp.bat"]Roblox Studio isn't available on Linux, so this integration is Windows only for now.
